Classes For Beginners
FREE* Pole Taster Session
Are you completely new to pole? If so a taster session at Spin City Exeter is the perfect opportunity for you to find out what it is all about. This is a 60 minute session that will give you the chance to learn some spins and transitions designed for complete beginners.
For the taster session please arrive five minutes before the class start time. Bare arms and legs are essential to grip the pole, so we recommend that you wear shorts and a t-shirt or vest top, with bare feet. Please try not to moisturise, or use any oils or lotions on the day of your class as this can affect your skin's ability to grip to the pole. If you prefer you will be able to wear leggings on your first class, although this will mean you won't have as much grip.
*we charge just £5 for this taster session which can then be deducted off the price of your first regular class booked
Beginner Pole
Beginner Pole is designed for complete beginners so don't worry if you're not super strong, flexible or well co-ordinated as these are skills you will develop and build on during these classes. In this class you will start by learning basic spins and transitions as well as climbing the pole, you will also train some spins on both sides and one handed. You will work through fun routines to help you link moves together, and our beginner conditioning drills will help you start building strength.
You will then progress to cover combinations of the more difficult beginner spins and some more advanced techniques, including spins with different hand grips and combinations using these techniques. You will also work through various seated poses on the pole and harder strength moves including an introduction flags.
Towards the end of this level you will get your very first taste of going upside down in a basic inverted position, in preparation for intermediate classes.
